Useful SEO plugins for WordPress
Search Engine OptimisationPublished August 14, 2010 at 10:28 pm No CommentsThis is a nice small list of my favourite plugins for wordpress to help those of you who aren’t that hot on web design coding or even SEO for that matter, and with a good portion of the web using this blogging platform as a CMS I feel that this should be pretty useful to a lot of people.
Platinum SEO – Makes it easy to place your meta descriptions and keywords by adding some nice options to your post and page creation areas.
WP Super Cache – Google does value site speed so if you have slow loading times this could seriously help you out.
Twitter Tools – If you want your new pages and posts indexed quickly then this could be just what you need, it links your wordpress to twitter and you can set it to send a tweet every time you post linking back to the post, in my experience it really speeds up the indexing process.
Google XML Sitemaps – Makes your site map for you and updates it, can’t go wrong.
301 redirects – The plugins name is a bit of a giveaway and whilst most seasoned webmasters know how to do this one of the most common problems I have to explain about is how to do a 301 redirect, especially to those webmasters who don’t know how to use FTP (the numbers may shock some of you) this plugin makes it so easy even a monkey could do it.
Hope these 5 plugins come in handy to those webmasters who are using wordpress because of its simplicity and usability.
